What is knowledgeXpert™?+
knowledgeXpert™ is a governed knowledge system — a “system of knowing” — that centralizes and operationalizes an organization’s proprietary information into a role-based, citation-grounded platform. It is not a generic chatbot layered on top of disconnected files. The goal is not just speed, but grounded, reviewable, defensible output that teams can trust.
How is knowledgeXpert™ different from a generic AI chatbot like ChatGPT?+
Unlike generic chatbots, knowledgeXpert™ produces answers anchored in your organization’s controlled documents and surfaces the “why” with cited references so users can validate the answer. It also asks clarifying questions when inputs are insufficient and supports repeatable workflows — not just one-off Q&A.
What industries does knowledgeXpert™ serve?+
The platform was initially developed with the pipeline industry in mind, but it can be applied to education, material science, manufacturing, construction, distribution, regulatory compliance, and virtually any industry where procedures, documentation, training, and auditing are required.

Features & capabilities

What types of documents can I upload to a knowledgeBase?+
You can ingest product catalogs, technical data sheets, supplier manuals, application notes, SOPs, training materials, pricing rules, historical case resolutions, industry standards, regulatory references, competitive cross-reference tables, and more. Uploads can be in the form of .pdf, .docx, .csv, .xlsx, .pptx.
Does knowledgeXpert™ cite its sources?+
Yes. Every response is anchored in your organization’s controlled documents and includes citations so users can validate the answer. This makes outputs grounded, reviewable, and defensible — critical for regulated industries and audit-readiness.
What happens if I don’t provide enough information in my question?+
The platform will ask clarifying questions when your inputs are insufficient to provide a precise answer or tell you that it does not have access to the information you’re seeking. This reduces incorrect assumptions before they reach the customer or end user.
What are Agentic Apps in knowledgeXpert™?+
Agentic Apps are visual, multi-step AI workflows that automate repeatable tasks across prompts, knowledgeBases, web search, user review, document generation, and email delivery. Users can build apps by connecting steps, called nodes, on a visual canvas; apps can run in the background, pause for user input, save run history, and run on schedules when configured. Agentic Apps are useful for workflows such as research-to-summary, knowledgeBase-to-report, review-and-export processes, daily briefings, technical triage, and other repeatable business or engineering workflows.
Can I save and reuse effective prompts?+
Yes. knowledgeXpert™ includes a prompt saving tool that allows users to save effective prompts for reuse, enabling teams to standardize how they interact with the platform.
Can I create a private knowledgeBase for my own use?+
Yes. The platform supports private knowledgeBase capability, allowing individual users or organizations to create private repositories that coexist with public or third-party knowledgeBases.
What is tutorXpert™?+
tutorXpert™ is a built-in learning tool inside knowledgeXpert™ that turns knowledgeBases into interactive training and learning content. It can help teams use trusted internal documents, Marketplace knowledgeBases, or both to create structured learning modules for onboarding, upskilling, standards training, and knowledge sharing.

Pricing & plans

Is there a free trial?+
Yes. knowledgeXpert™ offers a free trial based on an allotted amount of Work Units, allowing users to explore the platform before committing to a paid plan. Work Units are the platform’s usage measure for processing activity such as chat messages, app runs, knowledge storage, and searches.
How much does knowledgeXpert™ cost after the trial?+
knowledgeXpert™ individual plans are usage-based and differ by monthly Work Unit allocation. Current individual plans include Basic at 20 USD/month with 1,000 Work Units, Pro at 50 USD/month with 4,000 Work Units, and Power at 200 USD/month with 20,000 Work Units. Annual prepay includes a 10% discount.
What are Work Units?+
Work Units are a single usage measure for processing on knowledgeXpert™. They cover chat messages, Agentic App runs, knowledge storage, and searches, so users can track usage through one transparent monthly allowance. Actual Work Unit consumption varies based on model selection, document complexity, query length, and app configuration.
What happens if I run out of Work Units?+
If a user reaches their monthly Work Unit allowance, new processing pauses; the account, stored knowledge, and previous work remain accessible. Users are not automatically charged for overages. They can add more Work Units, upgrade their plan, or wait for the monthly reset.
Do unused Work Units roll over?+
No. Monthly Work Units reset at the beginning of each billing cycle, and unused Work Units do not roll over. One-time add-on Work Units must be used within the billing cycle in which they are purchased.
Are there Marketplace knowledgeBases and Agentic Apps I can subscribe to?+
Yes. The kX Marketplace provides access to curated knowledgeBases and Agentic Apps from industry experts and content publishers. Marketplace access is included with every knowledgeXpert™ plan. Free Marketplace content is available at no additional cost, while paid Marketplace subscriptions are billed separately from the user’s knowledgeXpert™ plan. Work Units cover the processing cost of querying subscribed Marketplace content.

Security & compliance

Is my data secure on knowledgeXpert™?+
Yes. Bear Creek AI uses encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest provided by cloud service providers. All production databases that store customer data are encrypted at rest. Secrets and credentials are managed using a dedicated secrets management platform and are never hard coded.
What compliance certifications does Bear Creek AI hold?+
Bear Creek AI is currently SOC 2 Type I, ISO/IEC 27001, and GDPR certified, with SOC 2 Type II compliance also supported. Independent third-party audit and compliance automation partners are used to maintain these certifications.
Is my data used to train AI models?+
No. Customer data is never used to train AI models. knowledgeBases and conversations are fully isolated per customer account, ensuring your proprietary information remains private and secure.
Does Bear Creek AI comply with GDPR?+
Yes. Bear Creek AI maintains GDPR readiness with documented policies including data protection by design and by default, privacy policies, data subject access request (SAR) processes, records of processing activities, and consent requirements.
How does Bear Creek AI handle security incidents?+
Bear Creek AI maintains an incident response process to identify, investigate, and remediate security incidents. Risk assessments of suspected data breaches are conducted and significant breaches are notified to all affected parties without unreasonable delay.

Yes. The platform reduces ramp time for new hires by giving them guided access to the organization’s approved knowledge. New team members get context-aware answers based on real company content instead of relying entirely on shadowing or ad hoc coaching.
How does knowledgeXpert™ preserve institutional knowledge?+
Many organizations depend on a few senior people who hold critical expertise. knowledgeXpert™ captures and preserves that expertise in a governed, searchable system that remains available to the entire organization, reducing dependence on “tribal knowledge.”
Can knowledgeXpert™ support regulatory compliance and audit preparation?+
Yes. The platform produces audit-ready Q&A with grounded, defensible responses anchored in controlled documents. It consolidates regulations, SOPs, QMS procedures, validation packages, audit responses, and historical findings into a compliance knowledge system with full traceability.
Can I trust knowledgeXpert™ for engineering calculations?+
knowledgeXpert™ draws a clear line between AI-assisted productivity and safety-critical quantitative work. Standard large language models can output a correct-looking formula and a plausible number while still being wrong due to arithmetic slips, unit errors, hidden assumptions, or misapplied correlations. For integrity-critical calculations, the platform pairs AI retrieval with Deterministic Calculation Apps — controlled tools that guarantee same inputs produce same outputs, with explicit unit checks, transparent intermediate steps, and preserved input/output records. The AI retrieves and cites the governing requirements and sets up the problem, while the math executes in a deterministic tool that can be rerun exactly — and the result must still be verified by a qualified engineer.
Can content providers monetize their knowledge through the platform?+
Yes. Content providers can sell or license specialized knowledgeBases, tutorXpert™ Courses, and Agentic Apps through the kX Marketplace. Marketplace subscriptions can be free or paid, and paid subscriptions are billed separately from the user’s core knowledgeXpert™ plan.
What safeguards does knowledgeXpert™ have against AI hallucination?+
The platform includes built-in LLM safeguards for hallucination prevention and prompt-injection protection. All answers are grounded in controlled documents with citations, ensuring outputs are verifiable rather than fabricated.
